MAGNA-VUE will substitute any of our probe-specific adapters in place of the standard adapter if the request is made with the order. The base includes rubber feet to prevent slippage on most surfaces. These feet are attached with screws so the user may remove and reinstall them. The MAGNA-VUE MV-36 Probe Positioner - $895
The MAGNA-VUE MV-36 probe positioner will meet your basic “hands free” probing needs without unneeded complexity or taking up a lot of bench space. The two swivel joints are fully adjustable to allow motion in all six degrees of freedom, yet they lock to rigidly position the probe. At the base, a knob on a spring loaded lever allows fine control of the probing pressure. A v-groove probe holder allows you to attach many brands and types of probes using common wire ties. Also included (not shown) are 25 wire ties and self adhesive Velcro dots to help strain relieve cables. See the in-use photo for more details.
This photo shows two of our MV-36 Probe Positioners being used to make actualmeasurements. The photo shows a digital CCD camera prototype from one of our x-ray systems.
We are checking the alignment of two clock signals. The inputs to the clock driver IC are partly obstructed by the CCD making access difficult. Ordinarily this would require an assistant to hold one probe with each hand while the measurements were made. The MV-36 let one person easily make the measurement. The setup was left in place while we went for a camera to take photos. The MV 36 did not slip or skip. Look closely at the traces on the scope. No one has hit run/stop or loaded a stored image.
